black and white photography book
What is the name of the book of photographs?

I'm really looking for a needle in a haystack. This is a book of photographs which was referred to me by a friend and she forgot the title and author of the book. The photos are from a region in the south United States and have been taken and published in the 1980s. The photos are in color. The photographer had apparently occurred in the area because his wife is from there and fell in love with the local environment. A separate photo (or photos) were the two boys, placed on facing pages, now the same position as if they are mirror images of each other. They are both wearing suits and both are holding a fish. A striking feature is that a boy is black and one white boy. Another photo of the book is a carnival and the wall of a local building has been painted with vibrant colors. I do not know if they are enough clues to find the book, but no effort for the cause will be greatly appreciated.

Was the book a size larger than normal? Could it be this: Lead Author: Roberts, Richard Samuel, D. 1936.
